The YMCA of Saskatoon is looking for fitness instructors to join our team as Volunteer Aquafit Instructor. As an Aquafit Instructor, you are responsible for the provision of responsive, meaningful fitness, rehabilitation, and recreational programs that enhance member achievement of whole life fitness goals. This position requires a positive, inclusive, safe, and values-based attitude to create a welcoming environment. This role focuses on relationship building on an individual and community scale.
Specifically you will:
– Be responsible for direct program delivery, including facilitation of aquafit classes.
– Ensure high quality program delivery is in keeping with YMCA Serving All Members (SAM) standards of excellence, Association core values, and mandates
– Foster a welcoming, positive environment to ensure members and participants learn and grow in a safe atmosphere.

Certifications, Education Level and Requirements:
Experience in delivering aquafitness and group fitness programs
Aquafitness/Water Aerobics Certification (YMCA, CALA, SPRA or equivalent)
Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
Other Fitness Certification are an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong relationship building skills
Note:
Successful volunteer candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, proof of Yoga certification, complete Child Protection Training, and proof of valid First Aid and CPR training.
