FIREFLY is seeking a Temporary (6 months) Full-Time Playroom Teacher, RECE for our Child Care program. Reporting to the Manager of Child Care, the Playroom Teacher will provide a positive, nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for all children who are enrolled in the Child Care Program.
Qualifications:
Membership in the College of Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education Diploma
Health Assessment prior to starting and current First Aid and CPR
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a child care setting
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under physically and emotionally demanding conditions
Demonstrated interpersonal skills when dealing with colleagues, children and families
Valid driver’s license and vehicle in good working order for work as needed
Duties:
Work as a member of a team to provide a safe and enriching environment for the children
Plan and implement daily activities that are stimulating and appropriate for children
Maintain classroom and equipment in a safe and hygienic manner
Light housekeeping and food preparation duties as needed
Ensure compliance to all applicable Government Legislation and Agency policies and procedures
Attend workshops and conferences in the field of Early Childhood Education
Attend staff meetings
