The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety – Custody, Supervision and Rehabilitation Services, requires an experienced and innovative individual to provide leadership for the development and implementation of rehabilitative interventions and programs for both youth and adult offenders. This includes a forward-thinking professional committed to managing and providing supervision to the Clinical Director team and collaborating to evaluate program effectiveness.
We are seeking a professional with advanced knowledge in the evidence-based practice of correctional rehabilitation for youth and adult offenders. Also required is the demonstrated ability to:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Offender Services you will provide direction and oversight to support service delivery for adult and youth offenders for effectiveness and consistency in both provincial community corrections and custody operations. You will be responsible to review and implement evidence-based practice, anticipate and plan for future needs, develop and implement provincial standards, and policies and programs for all aspects of correctional rehabilitative practice.
You will provide expert knowledge and direction in offender risk assessments, case management, and programming for and rehabilitation of offenders. You will research and analyze submissions for budget development, supervise/collaborate on qualitative and quantitative evaluations of programs, make recommendations for changes to service delivery, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for an individual with excellent collaborative skills, sound judgment and strong leadership ability.
Typically, the requirements for this position would be met by a graduate degree in the human services from a recognized university with graduate level experience and supervision with assessments, combined with several years of progressively responsible leadership experience. Key competencies for this position include graduate-level knowledge of both normal and maladaptive development and behaviour, forensic behavioural science, graduate-level supervised research experience, the ability to formulate planning based upon this information, and demonstrated ability in managing and directing human service professionals. Your personal management style must exemplify respect, consultation and collaboration, and you must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to work well with stakeholders, clients, provide leadership and clinical supervision, and as part of a team.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be expected to be eligible for and obtain professional affiliation in the Department of Psychology and College of Graduate Studies and Research to deliver the Post-Graduate Specialization Certificate in Corrections through the University of Saskatchewan Centre for Forensic Behavioural Sciences and Justice Studies. The Certificate program is a two-year post-graduate level program, the successful candidate will be expected to teach post-graduate level courses which are included within the job responsibilities and contribute to the development of new clinical directors. The program is sponsored by the ministry.
