Community Living St. Catharines Looking for Student Human Resources Assistant at St. Catharines, ON Full Time

Community Living St. Catharines (CLSC) is a dynamic and innovative non-profit social service agency providing services and supports to children and adults who have an intellectual disability.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director, Human Resources, the incumbent will provide support for the development, implementation, and administration of the agency’s human resources. Responsibilities will include: health and safety including COVID-19 Protocols, recruitment and selection, agency training, and administration support. We are seeking one Summer Student to work June-August and the position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Responsibilities:

• Assist HR staff in various clerical tasks: i.e. photocopying, phone calls, follow ups etc.
• Maintenance, updating, and filing of HR records Assist in various Health & Safety projects
• Develop and update orientation and training content as needed
• Assist with recruitment including pre-screening, interviewing, completing reference checks, etc.
• Develop and/or update HR spreadsheets
• Research, recommend and assist in revision of policy development
• Complete general HR duties in the HR department as needed
• Maintain a safe healthy working environment

Qualifications:

• Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
• Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations
• Interest in supporting adults who have intellectual disabilities
• Interest in Human Resources Management in a not for profit setting

Other Requirements:

• Satisfactory Police Clearance (18 years and older)
• MOL Workers Health & Safety Awareness Certificate
• AODA Certificate
• Completed or currently enrolled in one of the following post-secondary program: Human Resources Management, Health and Safety (an asset)

Salary: $16 per hour, 35 hours per week, 12 weeks total

Start Date: June 6, 2022
