Job Title: Human Resources Intern

Head Office Location: Mississauga – Working Fully Remote

Position Openings: 1 (up to 16 weeks contract – 35 hours per week)

ROLE:

We have an exciting internship opportunity for a Human Resources Intern, reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Operations. The HR Intern will provide support to the Human Resources and Organizational Development and Performance teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the HR Team with the recruitment and selection process in accordance with the organization’s policies and processes. Assists with posting vacant job positions on internal and external sites. Collects and screens resumes, schedules interviews, prepares and distributes necessary interview materials
• Research new and current industry best practices and share details with the HR team
• Provide professional and confidential administrative support to the Human Resources on a daily basis and on as needed basis to the Organizational Development and Performance team
• Through proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, compose and edit correspondence and reports from written and verbal direction or from knowledge of established policies or processes
• Support with preparing and processing invoices
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, appointments, events and other similar activities.
• Maintains day-to-day confidential employee files and records through timely and accurate updating of the HRIS system
• Provide support to the ODP team in preparation of new hires to the organization and recordkeeping to support ISO documentation

JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program of study in Human Resources
• 1 year of HR or administrative experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Working knowledge of an HRIS system would also be considered an asset
• Possess a high level of trust, confidentiality and diplomacy
• Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent tasks under tight deadlines
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
