Global Business Services (GBS) is ABB’s shared services organization which delivers operational and expert services in Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Legal, Global Travel Services and external Customer Contact Centers. Your responsibilities
Monthly closing and reporting: Oversee the month end close process including preparing the month end calendar, monitoring activities, and reviewing and approving journal entries. Reviewing certain balance sheet account reconciliations. Monitoring and updating monthly tasks. Reviewing IG journal entries and supporting in the resolution of mismatches. Ensuring timely and accurate reporting package and disclosures.
Internal Control and External Audit: Participate in answering external audit requests relating to year-end and quarter-end. Assists accounting management in defining and implementing internal controls regarding financial reporting. Participate in the internal R2R control requirements.
Projects: Drive and/or participate in projects and process improvements initiatives either related to systems, or structure changes.
Optimization: Assist in developing and implementing processes and procedures to continuously optimize and gain efficiency.
Coaching of team members, coordination of tasks and serve as escalation point for complex accounting transactions.
Ensure application of Accounting and Reporting policies and procedures (A&RP).
Your background
CPA Accounting Designation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, previous experience as a group leader role is a plus.
Advanced experience of computerized accounting systems and financial.
reporting software, including advanced knowledge of EXCEL and SAP and Oracle.
Proven ability to effectively work under pressure and within tight.
deadlines and high degree of flexibility.
Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask.
Fluent in French and English.
