RYU Looking for Restaurant Manager / Sommelier at Montréal, QC Full Time

Ryu is looking for a General Manager/Sommelier to help lead their team. The ideal person will have a sincere passion for hospitality and upscale service, experience in a Restaurant Manager position and a deep knowledge of wine and sake.
SALARY: $90,000 / year

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance to guest service
• Manage staff, providing them with feedback and maintain a high level of employee morale
• Ensure positive guest service in all areas; investigate and respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
• Recruit, train, motivate Front of House staff
• Show leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine
• Oversee restaurant opening and closing procedures, including completion of opening and closing checklists
• Achieve operational objectives by preparing and completing action plans, implementing productivity, quality and standards of service
• Complete daily briefs and shift end reports

QUALIFICATIONS

• Min 3 years of management experience in a high end, fast paced hospitality environment
• Knowledgeable and passionate about food, wines, spirits and alcoholic beverages
• Must be bilingual (FR&EN) both oral and written
• Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast paced environment while acting as a team player

• WSET Intermediate Wine Certificate or comparable an asset
• A Degree/ Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent considered an asset
