Details of the Position:
The Education and Training Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and day to day activities of an Education and Training Program for Victoria Women’s Transition House. The role includes providing educational presentations to community-based organizations and stakeholders as well as internal staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Implements a community-based education model for delivery to various organizations and stakeholders in the community. Provides education and training presentations to the community
With Volunteer Program Coordinator and Program Managers plans and coordinates training of volunteers.
Provides agency orientation and overview to new employees.
Develops and facilitates online training and education programs.
Promotes public awareness of the community- based education program by producing appropriate promotional materials and making
Maintains current knowledge of issues and best practice related to intimate partner abuse and provides input to program managers for improved service delivery.
Qualifications:
A relevant Diploma is required (i.e., education, social sciences). A minimum of two years recent related experience is required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A valid BCDL, a clear drivers abstract and access to a reliable vehicle are requirements of this position.
The successful candidate will excellent have:
Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of adult education.
Experience and strong working knowledge of Powerpoint and other professional presentation technology
Excellent time management skills. Ability to organize and conduct training.
Ability to network and liaise effectively with community-based organizations.
This position must have own vehicle and requires union membership, satisfactory completion of a criminal records search, TB test and Standard First Aid Certificate.
Wage and Benefits:
This is a union position and starts at $23.45 per hour. Excellent extended health and dental, pension plan. Paid sick time and three weeks paid vacation
