Job Summary
The Human Resources Advisor is a consultant and recruitment role within the Human Resources department. The successful applicant will counsel and build relationships always representing and building Blue Mountain’s employee culture. This role is seen as an operational and strategic resource for the business units which they support.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Partner and consult with managers to identify staffing requirements, job specifications, job duties and qualifications to facilitate job description development.
Develop recruiting strategies for positions at the employee, supervisory and managerial level, including documenting the selection criteria and developing screening methods.
Participate in recruiting activities including job postings, job ad development, collection of applications, interviewing, testing, reference checking and candidate selection.
Convey employment offers to successful candidates and engages in negotiation when necessary.
Organize and participates in large and small recruiting fairs to attract applicants.
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and helps ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
Advise employees as required on policies, procedures and programs, as well as provides counseling on issues of concern.
Partners, advises and assists management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Conduct new employee orientation and fosters positive attitude toward company goals.
Facilitate HR programs and Training Workshops as required to both large and small audiences; makes public presentations about our employment culture at schools and other organizations.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
3-5 years of experience in Human Resources activities that include experience with high-volume recruitment, training and retention plan development is required.
University Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or College Diploma in HR, Business or related field is a definite asset.
CHRL completed or in progress is a definite asset.
Experience with employee relations matters is required.
Sound knowledge of Canadian Employment Laws/Regulations; including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Proven ability to skillfully train and educate large and small groups of employees on a wide variety of content.
Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (including Applicant Tracking Software) Internet; MS Office suite of products.
Past consulting experience required; must know how to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
High regard for confidentiality and able to handle situations which require discretion, confidently and professionally.
Highly organized, ability to multi-task and able to work in a fast paced environment.
