Job Overview
As part of Wawanesa’s Digital Strategy & Exploration team, the Exploration Coordinator works collaboratively with team members and stakeholders as we explore ideas and emerging technologies that create new opportunities and add value to our business, brokers, and policyholders.
In this role, you will support a broad spectrum of digital innovation projects in collaboration with the team and internal stakeholders from across the whole organization. You will contribute to the Exploration process by supporting communications and research, and help to realize business strategy through clever problem solving. You will support and contribute to the testing of novel opportunities spanning products, services, customer experience, business models, technologies, and partnerships.
As Exploration Coordinator, you are passionate about innovation and have a knack for coordinating and communicating across cross functional teams throughout an innovation process.
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, support the facilitation of initiatives through the systematic innovation process, from strategy to discovery and validation.
Support the preparation and facilitation of workshops and experiments using established methodologies, frameworks, and tools (i.e., Innovation Engineering, Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, etc.)
Contribute to the preparation and delivery of compelling presentations and business artifacts that ensure the effective communication of learnings, track exploration outcomes, and promote openness and collaborative knowledge sharing across the organization.
Support the research of high value technologies and industry trends to support innovation in customer and broker experience, operations, and to strengthen competitive advantage.
Maintain and organize business artifacts on the organization’s intranet, contributing to communication and knowledge sharing strategies.
Act as a subject matter expert on our Exploration process, passionately advocating for innovation and demonstrating new ways of thinking and problem solving.
Practice continuous learning and professional development, staying up to date on novel innovation focused research, emerging technologies, and the evolving industry landscape and trends.
Coordinate and participate in cross-functional team meetings to share critical information, establish work plans and business insights.
Coordinate the creation of monthly reports.
Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience working in innovation, digital transformation, or business analysis considered an asset.
Effective communication skills to share information with others.
Knowledge of innovation methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
Effective planning and organizing skills to develop plans and meet deadlines.
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. SharePoint experience considered an asset.
Knowledge of agile practices, Scrum, Kanban, and continuous delivery considered an asset.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Innovation Engineering, Six Sigma, or Design Thinking certifications considered an asset.
Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset.
