Accounts Payable Supervisor
Our client, a prominent Canadian automotive distribution company, is in search of an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their team in Orangeville.
As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will oversee the Accounts Payable department, including planning departmental workload and facilitating the disbursement of non-payroll accounts payable. Responsibilities include maintaining financial spreadsheets, ensuring timely processing of payment documents, and providing billing information to support bank reconciliations. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will also play a key role in training and coaching AP staff, analyzing and approving new suppliers, and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the Accounts Payable department functions.
- Analyze operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Interact with auditors and tax specialists.
- Analyze and approve new suppliers, terms, and discounts.
- Prepare supplier account reconciliations and purchase orders.
- Provide training and coaching to AP staff.
- Enforce departmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct meetings with staff to ensure compliance.
- Plan department workload and flow.
- Address vendor queries and complaints.
- Review and investigate invoices for errors.
- All additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 5 + years of related Accounts Payable Experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting is an asset.
- Ability to interpret procedure manuals and reports.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AP software.
