**Intermediate Accounting Associate**
Hybrid position
Salary: 60K to 70K depending on experience
A leading Chartered Professional Public Accounting firm in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a dynamic Intermediate Accounting Associate to join its expanding Audit and Assurance (A&A) group. For over 50 years, we have served diverse clients, including entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses, high net-worth individuals, corporate subsidiaries, and not-for-profit organizations.
Role Purpose
As an Intermediate Accounting Associate, you will leverage your accounting and bookkeeping knowledge across various client engagements. You will develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring the “Ultimate Client Experience,” while being mentored by a Manager or Senior Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Notice to Reader engagements, including working paper files and corporate income tax returns
- Conduct review engagements of financial statements for owner-managed businesses and prepare corporate income tax returns
- Prepare and review T4s, T5s, personal tax returns, trust returns, and HST returns
- Correspond with the Canada Revenue Agency
- Build professional client relationships
- Manage multiple deadlines and provide quality service
- Communicate file status to managers and solve problems proactively
- Mentor junior team members and co-op students
Qualifications
- College graduate with an accounting or finance background
- Minimum 12 months of junior experience
- Strong client service and communication skills
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping concepts
- Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven
- Experience with CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, and Excel
- Ability to work under stress with competing priorities
