ABC Technologies Looking for Plant Coordinator/Customer Service at Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Full Time

ABC Technologies’ core business as an Automotive Tier 1 supplier is in the Design, Development and Production of plastic automotive systems and components for OEMs worldwide.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This Primary focus of this role is coordinating the plant activities, and a secondary focus on acting as the customer service representative for the Plant. Please note that this role requires the candidate to be on-site.

As the Plant Coordinator, you will be responsible to create and execute purchase orders to ensure that raw materials and MRO supplies are replenished in an accurate and timely manner. This role also Includes scheduling purchases of raw materials, components, and other supplies to maintain appropriate levels of inventories necessary for uninterrupted production, and in response to other ad-hoc requirements. You will also be responsible to ensure all receipt of goods and services is entered in the CMS system in a timely manner.

As a customer service rep, you will ensure that shipment of sales items is processed in a timely manner and will coordinate with customers to ensure that they are provided with the most up to date information on their orders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all release data from customers is updated in a timely manner to ensure proper scheduling for shipment and production.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Plant Coordinator:

• Receiving of goods and services into the CMS system in a timely manner
• Assists in the establishment, control, and utilization of a cost-effective list of suppliers.
• Conducts negotiations in respect to sources of supply, prices, etc. Obtaining and administering quotations, as necessary.
• Purchasing of raw materials (resin, components, and packaging) and MRO goods and services for the plant.
• All equipment related services are completed on a timely manner without any production interruption
• Executes surveys, obtains statistical data, carries out evaluations, etc. as directed.
• Assists in the maintenance, organization, and consolidates supplier’s lists in respect to components, raw materials, and miscellaneous commodities.
• Keeps respective purchasing activities within plants up to date on supplier status and general efficiency.
• Issues purchase orders in accordance with existing policy as directed.
• Assists in the maintenance of appropriate administrative requirements relative to procurement of all commodities including quotations, price lists, quality assessments etc.
• Maintains, amends, controls, records, and documents as directed.
• Ensure that orders meet quality specifications.

Customer Service:

• Send open order report on daily and weekly basis to shipping, production and quality depts. to ensure orders are prepared on time
• Manage shipping schedule to ensure all expeditor and trucking companies are dealt within a business-like manner
• Ensure all shipping documents are prepared accurately and on a timely basis
• Prepare customs paperwork for outgoing shipments to US, Mexico and overseas
• Ensure that shipments and all required documentation is updated in the CMS system in a timely manner.

Other Duties:

· Support Plant Controller with various tasks/projects as directed.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years in a customer service/purchaser or similar role
• Post-secondary education
• CMS (AS400) ERP knowledge a definite asset, strong Excel Skills
• Manufacturing experience required, preferably in an automotive environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and time management skills
• Detail oriented with analytical aptitude and thorough problem-solving ability
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethics with positive can-do attitude
