Acushnet Canada Inc., home to the leading brands in golf – Titleist and FootJoy – has an exciting 12-month contract opportunity for a General Accountant.
Job Summary:
Responsible for executing general accounting functions including journals, account analysis, preparation and analysis of financial and sales reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and perform month end closing activities including reports and analysis.
- Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, advertising and promotional expenses tracking.
- Coordinate the collection and entry of mid-month forecast data, including net sales, cost of sales variances and operating expenses.
- Complete the quarterly reporting package for US head office.
- Validate and coordinate annual rebate program reports.
- Review of supplier, freight and duty invoices for proper coding and allocation of operating expenses.
- Assist with annual/periodic standard cost update.
- Prepare and generate special accounting/sales reports for analysis (i.e. ad hoc reports for US or local management, Statistics Canada etc.)
Qualifications:
- University or College Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills, including attention to details.
- Proficient with a PC including experience with Microsoft Office programs, ideally advanced Excel level.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Cognos Analytics an asset.
