POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the VP, Financial Reporting, the Manager, Internal Reporting will play a key role in internal financial reporting, technical accounting matters, and process improvement.
Within the scope of this position, the Manager, Internal Reporting takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.

CORE OUTCOMES

Reviews monthly financial reporting to ensure the financial information is completed on a timely and accurate basis, including but not limited to,
- Monthly financial statements and variance reports,
- Cashflow reporting and projections
- Leads monthly site reviews and summarizes any risks or areas of concern
- Assists with the completion of site operating budgets
- Leads the month-end and year-end, close process
- Supports integration of newly acquired sites through training on financial review process
- Prepares ad hoc financial analysis reports for stakeholders
- Provides leadership and guidance on areas requiring financial expertise as necessary with various sites/locations.
- Works collaboratively with the external reporting team to meet all reporting deadlines
- Participates in external audits
- Provides financial reporting guidance and training on relevant systems and processes
- Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and suggest improvements
- Prepares and updates financial policies and procedures
- Directly supervises and mentor team members
- Motivates team and leads by example
QUALIFICATIONS

- Responsible to acquire and maintain the knowledge and skills required to fulfill this role including maintaining an in-depth knowledge of industry trends and best practices

Experience
- Ten (10) years of finance / accounting experience and five (5) years of people management experience
- Experience in Workday is considered an asset
Education/Designation Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting / Finance Management or a related field is required
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation is required
