Agilus Work Solutions Looking for Director of Operations at Calgary, Alberta, Canada Full Time

Agilus is recruiting for a Director of Operations in the Logistics Industry in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Vice President, this position will be responsible for the operations and execution of the Calgary location. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in logistics and delivery solutions, as well as proven leadership competencies and diverse management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the transportation activities including daily operational execution, negotiations, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis
• Maintain depth and breadth of understanding for the North American markets and provide regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team
• Establish objectives for the organization, lead the development of strategic initiatives, and formulate or approve policies and programs
• Responsible for operational metrics and reporting, overseeing the budget and managing expenses
• Responsible for the optimization of productivity and performance, and implement strategies for growth and improvement
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with related clients and vendors; all parties involved and required
• Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
• Provide leadership and oversight for the teams and operational execution

Successful candidates will have:

• 10 plus years of experience in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related Business area with extensive knowledge of the Transportation industry
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field of study will be an asset
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a high skill level with Excel/PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences, including Management and outside parties involved in the flow of the business
• Must possess excellent analytical, negotiation, interpersonal skills, along with strong leadership characteristics
• Strong understanding of North American and global freight markets, and a proven ability to aggregate and disseminate key market data
• Possess strategic and critical thinking skills, able to adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
