INTRO
Based at the Canadian Operations Centre, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a IT Coordinator to join our IT team reporting to the Canadian IT Operations Manager.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The IT Coordinator’s role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain SLA expectations.
Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
Looking after local physical infrastructure and liaising with Shared Services SME’s and 3rd party vendors to facilitate continued operation and availability of technology functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in software releases and roll-outs according to Change Management best practices.
- Follow up on requisition orders
- Fill out new vendor forms, as well as try to maintain 3 quotes system
- Deploy software, hardware
- Monitor/repair/deploy network switches
- Service all Apple related products and Cell phones on site
- As Assigned tasks and manage all Service level I helpdesk calls
- Plan and direct work to maintain a positive service delivery environment
- Providing Shared Services SME’s support in regional project work as required
- Act as an escalation point for advanced or difficult help requests.
- Build rapport with service desk customers.
- Record, track and document the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources on the Internet/Intranet to aid in problem resolution.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Install anti-virus software and ensure virus definitions are up-to-date.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of servers, and PMs from Manager plus.
- Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
- Perform post-resolution follow ups with IT Technicians as required.
- Reinforce SLAs to manage end-user expectations
- Other tasks as directed from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
- Coursework in Computer Science, Programming and/or Networking or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of computers and Windows operating system.
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge in installing and troubleshooting desktop/laptop hardware and peripherals
