Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Product Marketing, the Manager, Cargo Marketing is responsible for developing and evolving the Air Canada Cargo brand identity in both internal and external-facing marketing materials and driving brand awareness through various marketing channels.
Specifically, this position will lead execution of annual marketing strategies to deliver against the Air Canada Cargo business objectives. This position will work closely with the Commercial marketing team to ensure that the Air Canada Cargo brand is adhered to globally and will provide support to the regional and global sales teams, commercial product marketing managers, and operational teams in crafting the narrative and look-and-feel of the Air Canada Cargo brand, business, and products and solutions.
The ideal candidate excels in a collaborative environment, is comfortable with technical, operational, and creative subject matter and communication, and is a self-starter.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the strategy for annual brand plans, paid media plans, social media plans (paid and organic) and marketing campaigns to build awareness and consumer engagement building the brand vision and proposition and oversee execution and optimizations
- Establish best-in-class brand storytelling that delivers the right content in the right formats, to the right channels in alignment with business priorities and marketing/communications themes
- Responsible for paid media strategy (digital, print, etc.), working with internal and external media buying agencies to develop annual plans, manage budgets, optimize and execute
- Develop the global brand guidelines, providing key assets and setting the guardrails for local adaptation, including defining the fix and flex elements of the design system
- Understand overarching global trends, consumer needs, emerging categories and benefits to define the strategies for growth of the brand
- Continuously fill the funnel of new ideas – Responsible for identifying consumer insights, turning them into effective, consumer-relevant and brand-building concepts, to support brand awareness and consideration
- Responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of marketing projects, delivering strategies for optimizations and identifying growth opportunities for the business
- Ensure alignment of product briefs and marketing briefs with overall strategic marketing priorities and business objectives, overseeing the creation of marketing materials in external-facing channels and to support the branch (i.e. sales) and ensuring proper alignment across paid, earned, shared and owned media
- Responsible for implementing global brand management processes and guardrails to ensure all branch communications adhere to established guidelines, at HQ as well as on local levels
- Responsible for strategy, development and delivery of marketing materials such as digital and print campaigns, flyers, brochures, PowerPoint decks, sales sheets, and other documents as appropriate, in collaboration with the creative team
- Responsible for brand storytelling and overarching marketing messages to support the tradeshow team at Air Canada Cargo events and key marquee events
- Management of campaign budgets, maximizing effectiveness against objectives.
- Track and measure KPIs to evaluate success of campaigns
- Responsible for pre-and-post-analysis on impact of marketing initiatives to business growth targets
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams (Sales, Regulatory/Legal, Operations, etc.) to drive project success
Qualifications
- University degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent
- 5-7+ years of relevant marketing experience; air cargo/logistics/B2B experience is an asset
- Self-starter who will own project management and innovation through to execution and launch and can also operate at a higher strategic and cross-functional level
- Experience in through-the-line marketing channels, including print, digital, video, trade shows/events, and social media channels
- Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to guide and develop creative content
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous priorities in a fast-paced, quickly moving environment
- High levels of ingenuity, creativity, and initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products (InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Experience working with agencies; Agency experience is preferred
- Bilingual English and French is preferred
- This position can be located in Montreal (Dorval) or Toronto
