Here is what you will do

VitalAire Canada is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager, Healthcare for our Mississauga, ON location.

Responsible for leading the full cycle month-end close for the healthcare group entities, including the review and approval of month-end journal entries.

Responsible for the review and approval of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for the healthcare group.

Ensures group financial reporting is delivered timely and accurately.

Performs monthly group P&L review of expenses and provides variance analysis.

Provides timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and group accounting finance manual.

Guides, develops and motivates a team of accounting professionals.

Provides financial guidance, analysis and support throughout the healthcare organization acting as a finance business partner.

Ensures accounting practices and policies are appropriate, implemented, and comply with professional and Company directives.

Ensures company wide policy internal controls compliance, improves internal controls, risks, and governance policies, in collaboration with the internal controls audit team.

Primary liaison with the external financial statement group auditors and coordination for any local audits, as required.

Participates in the design, implementation, and documentation and transformation of the accounting department, while integrating the group entities to common, best in class practices and processes.

Participates in the financial accounting integration within the ERP system, ensuring internal controls are implemented and efficient processes are designed, documented and followed.

Participates in streamlining processes and month-end close for the healthcare group entities.

Participates with the review of income tax and sales tax accounts and related schedules on a monthly basis, including the annual corporate income tax returns and working papers for accounting and tax compliance purposes. Assists the tax department with any tax audits.

Works in cooperation with his/her team and cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes.

Analyzes activities, identifies causes for problems and proposes sound recommendations

Participates in the budget process and ad hoc projects, as required.

Here is what you will need

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Accounting Designation (CPA/CMA/CA/CGA)

Minimum 5 -7 years work experience and 2 -3 years managing teams

Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles

Work experience in medium to large organization and public company environment

Good understanding of direct and indirect tax

Experience with internal controls

Proficiency with MS Office, and Advanced Excel skills and accounting programs
