What will you do in this job?:
This role is responsible for the development and performance of sales activities with key clients while striving towards the achievement of maximum profit in line with company vision and values. Working with the Senior Director of Sales, establish plans and strategies to expand the current market.
Key Job Responsibilities
Maintain excellent client relationships with assigned accounts – retain and grow existing clients’ book of business
Qualify and follow-up on new sales leads, assisting with client product selection
Manage daily communication ensuring that excellent customer service is provided, and problem solve issues as they arise, with assistance of the Sales Coordinator/Specialist
Seek out new business opportunities for all Pursuit operating divisions while maintaining and growing existing accounts
Pursuit Operating divisions include Banff Jasper Collection, Glacier Park Collection, Alaska Collection, FlyOver Collection, and Sky Lagoon
Provide assessment of new revenue growth opportunities, qualify and secure new clients, close and forecast sales
Manage customer acquisition and sales process within customer relationship management system
Manage designated client accounts: Responsible and accountable for client communication directed to the Sales area from internal and external sources, on a daily basis
Keep up to date on product offerings and make recommendations to clients. Provide support to clients for annual/bi-annual product selection and follow-up
Cross sell products to clients to ensure products already set up and contracted are utilized
Provide product training to clients
Provide competitor and market feedback, including product, price and product placement analysis
Send out key client statistics, extract sales related statistics and prepare comparisons
Communicate client product needs and timelines to the Sales Operations team and ensure the prices and product information is received by the client on time
Provide direction and feedback with regards to product offerings and client services required
Participate in summer & winter rate and contract distribution
Attend client meetings either locally or abroad if required – this may involve attendance at in office meetings, dinners, tradeshows, and sales/FAM trips
Ensure Tradeshow follow-up: complete sales reports/action follow up items
Manage pre-planned sales trips and initiate business strategies and actions as defined in the sales plans
Liaise with the Channel Marketing Manager (Print and Online) on implementing new initiatives regarding client marketing
Participate with all sales and marketing personnel and divisional managers on budgets, marketing plans and gathering of business intelligence
Provide mid-season and year end plan updates with a focus on tactical performance metrics
Meet company goals and divisional targets and lead generation as set by key divisions
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Minimum 5 years of sales manager experience in the hospitality industry
Experience with Microsoft Office tools essential (eg.: Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word, Teams)
Experience with SalesForce or Delphi
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptable
Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment
Strong commitment to building positive working relationships
Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment
Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner
Sense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happens
Hospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partners
Strong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasks
Travel to other Pursuit geographies or to business meetings will be required both domestically and internationally. The nature of this position will require work to be performed at nonstandard hours and weekends. Proof of COVID vaccination may be required for international travel or attendance at certain meetings or events.
