The Opportunity

The Digital Transformation & Business Delivery group is recruiting for a Lead, Product Management. This role is responsible for providing direction and decision making on design, development, and implementation of technology solutions at the program level.

Working with a cross-divisional team comprised of subject matter experts from operational areas, information management technology professionals, and regulatory specialists, you will be responsible for leading, maturing and directing the function of product management. You will engage across the Operations Division and the Information Management and Technology branch to ensure we have consistent requirements and designs for software during our Digital Transformation projects and provide advice to the leadership team regarding the suite of tools we use to support AER regulatory business processes and our vision for future digital transformation. You will act as a steward of Integrated Decision Approach (IDA) & the regulatory decision framework in a lead client facing role in sustainment and delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Design, lead and mature practice for Enterprise Requirements, Standards Management, and the Digital Transformation Framework Management, such that we can accurately describe the relationship between the AER regulatory business process needs and the suite of software tools used to support that business; ensure our IT counterparts are aware and engaged with these processes and standards.

• Design lead and mature appropriate governance and change management for aspects of both Enterprise Requirements and Standards Management and our Digital Transformation Framework. This is accomplished through liaison work with projects as well as involvement with solution design meetings.

• Provide guidance and leadership to the business design committee to ensure the Digital Transformation program is leveraged consistently during software solution delivery so as to have functions that can be used by a broad number of business areas in a broad set of business processes.

• Lead enterprise governance forums on enterprise requirements and standards as well as the breakdown of work via the Digital Transformation Framework. Actively engage with project delivery teams and ensure adherence to our processes and standards.

• Analyze gaps in our solutions and provide advice to leadership team during road mapping activities as well as on the practices surrounding the Digital Transformation Frameworks as well as Enterprise Requirements and Standards.

• Support and provide additional capacity for generating Digital Transformation Functionality Assessments and, enterprise requirements and standards.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, or a related field

• 7 to 10 years experience in AER regulatory business process

• 7 to 10 years related experience with software development projects

• Ability and comfort in leading groups, facilitating, and presenting to all levels of the organization

• 5 years experience in product management; certification considered an asset

• Certificate in change management (e.g., Prosci Certified Change Practitioner) is an asset

• A collaborator who believes in the importance of building strong relationships, teamwork, fostering a positive organizational culture, and willing to collectively find ways to problem solve.

• All applicants are expected to reside in Alberta and be willing to attend AER offices when their job requires it.

AER Hybrid Work Model Trial
