Communicable Disease Control (CDC) is looking for a client-focused Applications Support Specialist to deliver custom, technical solutions and workflow processes to meet business needs, using a variety of platforms and applications. Under the direction of the Associate Manager Quality and Process Improvement, the Applications Support Specialist will support the department by designing, building, and maintaining technology solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, employing user-centered design principles. The incumbent will customize application settings to optimize system performance and ensure the functionality of systems that support day to day department operations, monitoring, and reporting. They will approach designing and delivering technical solutions with creativity, adaptability, resourcefulness, and flexibility. The incumbent will have experience working both independently and collaboratively with technical developers, subject matter experts, and internal and external stakeholders/partners to deliver solutions. The incumbent will lead technical projects by conducting needs assessments with clients to determine the scope and full impact of the business problem or need, identify project requirements, assess and analyze technological solutions, and make recommendations. The specialist delivers ongoing technical support for all relevant applications and software. They will use effective communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) skills in their day-to-day work. This is a remote position that may require occasional travel into a designated CDC site. Successful candidates may be reassigned as needed depending on operational requirements. Please note there will be 3 positions hired for this requisition.
As an Administrative Support VI, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
Additional Required Qualifications:
A combination of one or more of the following qualifications may be considered. Completion of a diploma or related technical certifications in Information Technology or another relevant software/computer field. A minimum three years of work experience in information technology/application support. Training and proven business experience working with eLearning software such as Lectora, Camtasia, or Adobe Captivate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with an organization and projects of a significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience working in Communicable Disease Control or Public Health. Experience working with the following applications: SharePoint, REDCap, Tableau, Microsoft Access.
