Coronation Hospital & Care Centre (located in Coronation, Alberta) has an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Nurse in their Acute and Long Term Care. In this role, you will work as a team lead within a multidisciplinary team to provide client and family focused care in the Acute and Long Term Care environments. In this role, the Undergraduate must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to plan, assess, implement and evaluate client centered care. Your exceptional communication skills are a must, as well as your ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. You must have the ability to work independently, providing continuity, leadership, including direction, supervision, mentoring, constructive feedback and client care coordination to other professionals and unregulated staff. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Description:
An Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position provides an opportunity for a UNE to develop further competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practice. The nursing activities performed and level of supervision required is determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by professional associations, AHS and competency of the UNE. You will be guided by your education, experience and demonstrated skill level to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Current and active enrolment in an accredited nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Completed a minimum of 450 hours of clinical practice in an accredited nursing education program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
