St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas is currently seeking a Resident Care Manager to join our growing and dynamic team!
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaises and consults with families/residents, staff, residents and other professionals to support resident clinical care.
- Identify nursing department learning needs and make provisions for appropriate education and continuing staff development, with focus on specialized care and clinical assessments
- Oversee resident clinical assessment by staff, to ensure that resident needs are met, ensure that all referrals and documentation is completed in a manner that maximizes client focus.
- Knowledge of the LTCHA, 2007 and the required programs.
- Knowledge of current Infection Prevention and Control Practices.
- Model and foster an environment of positive customer service in all aspects of care and service
- Support and enhance specialized care services through education and clinical support for skills such as but not limited to intravenous therapy, wound care, hypodermoclysis, injectable medications.
- Establish and maintain clinical care in a manner that is resident centered and fosters evidence based best practice, and support policy and standard development through this.
- Participates in post admissions, resident reviews and any other care conferences as required.
- As part of the nurse management team, assists with staff performance including appraisals and direction in accordance with policies and collective agreements.
- Participates in the Administrator on Call team.
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Registered Practical Nurse with a current membership with the College of Nurses
- Leadership and management in Long Term Care Preferred
