Alpha College is a registered education provider through Alpha College of Business and Technology with the Ministry Colleges and Universities, Private Career Colleges Branch. Through this branch, Alpha College offers quality training to domestic and international students in their desired discipline. Alpha College has also formed a partnership with St. Lawrence College. Following the St. Lawrence curriculum, each semester is designed to meet the challenges unique to international students and exceed academic expectations through a combination of theory and hands-on experience. Responsibilities
The Academic Operations Associate Director, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, will work with the Academic team to support Alpha College. They will manage Academic team to maintain symmetry between courses and facilitate quality assurance in courses. This role will support facets of both the private career college (PCC) and the public private partnership (PPP) with St. Lawrence College (SLC), while acting as a leader within Alpha College. This position is to oversee the operation of the international student community college partnership ensuring all goals are met based on the organization’s strategic plans and the goals set by the College. This position will ensure the efficient and profitable growth of the public-private partnership, focusing on quality and student success.
Highlight of Duties:
· Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while providing expertise and guidance on PPP and PCC projects and systems.
· Support the strategic academic planning process and implement academic plans under the PCC.
· Supervise the management, development, and evaluation of curriculum for the PCC and support the review of St. Lawrence partnership programs with the Academic Team.
· Directly manage the Academic team to support operations of St. Lawrence partnership programs and manage all faculty staff under PCC programs.
· Manage the implementation and execution of programs under the PCC.
· Support excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
· Establish and maintain excellent professional relationships with SLC and appropriate contacts.
· Support faculty in designing and developing learning plans in alignment with outlines from SLC.
· Focus and prioritize on the effective delivery of the college programs and continue to review programs for improvement.
· Facilitate adherence to and implementation of quality assurance plan, in partnership with the academic team and other college departments.
· Maintaining Government regulations and reporting duties.
· Other duties as assigned, and which are in the best interests of Alpha College and the role.
Qualifications
Experience and Educational Requirements
· 10 years of experience in education (and administrative capacity) or relevant experiences.
· Minimum 5 years as a professor/instructor required (within a private education sector considered an asset).
· Experience in a management position directly overseeing employees considered an asset.
· Experience as a campus director or similar operational leader is considered an asset
· Experience in working with international students is considered an asset.
· Experience managing partnership relationships and multiple stakeholders required.
· Master’s degree required, with priority in BA or Education or PhD considered an asset.
· Intermediate in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point).
Skills and Personal Qualities:
· Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial statements with the ability to think strategically and create organizational objectives.
· Knowledge of government regulatory climate of education.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage people.
· Highly effective organizational skills, flexibility, and adaptability.
· Strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
· Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.
· High degree of time management skills and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
· Ability to take work independently, take responsibility and be self motivated to achieve goals.
