Main responsibilities:
– Draft correspondence and prepare and review procedures and other legal documents
– Finalize the procedures for the purpose of notification and filing with the court
– Ensure the follow-up of procedural deadlines
– Communicate with clients, bailiffs and court representatives, and third parties
– Manage folders and documents using multiple storage applications
– Manage lawyers’ calls, emails and calendar
– Update the industrial relations database
– Perform any administrative tasks, such as opening files, preparing expense reports and entering data
– Assist lawyers in projects related to business development
Skills and abilities:
– Attestation of Collegial Studies (A.E.C) in Legal Secretarial Studies or Diploma of College Studies (D.E.C) in Office Automation
– Diploma of Collegial Studies (D.E.C) in legal techniques, an asset
– A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience
– In-depth knowledge of litigation procedures in Quebec
– Knowledge of the conduct of proceedings in the Federal Court, Tax Court of Canada and Supreme Court of Canada an asset
– Excellent oral and written skills in French and English
– In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
– Excellent attention to detail
– Great initiative combined with good judgment
– Ability to manage priorities and work with tight deadlines
– Great sense of organization
– Good team spirit
