Reporting into the CFO and working closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager, the incumbent will oversee and support the Finance department in their daily accounting operations; while developing and implementing a shared-service center to support the continuous improvement objectives of the department. This role will work collaboratively with internal department stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and delivery of a centralized shared-service center.

What you will do:

• Lead transformational projects, participate in strategic group initiatives, and oversee projects led by your direct reports to contribute to a new state-of-the-art finance shared services center
• Lead, coach and mentor 4 direct reports of a manger level, while overseeing a department of 50 employees including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Asset divisions
• Offer assistance and backup to managers as needed
• Set department objectives to ensure initiatives and daily activities are being met
• Ensure day-to-day accounting activities are performed with high quality standards, in a timely and efficient manner
• Report to the CFO and other leadership members on KPIs regarding standard accounting activities, ongoing projects and continuous improvement
• Be the main point of contact from Finance for collaboration and problem solving scenarios with leadership members of various internal client groups including: operations, commercial, procurement, IT and logistics
• Ensure an exceptional, reliable service level and transparent dialogue to internal clients
• Challenge current processes and ways of workings in order to bring improvements
• Anticipate challenges and create solution-based action plans

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• CPA designation, an asset
• 10 years of experience in Finance or Accounting
• 3 years of experience in leading large teams or departments (approx. 50)
• 3 years of experience in delivering transformational projects such as centralization, process reengineering and/or KPIs dashboards. Either in an external consulting role or internally
• Experience in the development and implementation of a finance shared service center
• High proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Maximo and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance and Operations, an asset)
• Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset
• High level of autonomy, proactivity, problem solving and sense of prioritization
• Strong leadership, communication and change management skills
• Focus on customer service, relationship building, cross-team collaboration and developing team capabilities
• Thrives in a fast-paced, change-management driven environment
• Bilingual (French and English)
