The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Debt and Treasury, this position will support the Debt & Treasury team in the marketing, negotiation, and closing of loans for the company’s debt portfolio as well as assisting in the maintenance and enhancement of Treasury analysis and reporting. The incumbent will work with the financial operations accounting team, development team, investment team, and department leaders. This person is a self-motivated, deadline driven professional, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.
What you will be doing
Debt Capital Markets
Supporting team members during the loan marketing and closing process, including through the preparation of financial analyses, internal management updates, lender marketing materials, and assist in the lender communication and loan negotiation process.
Support the diligence process with potential lenders.
Produce internal memoranda and analyses highlighting trends in the commercial financing markets and/or pertaining to the company’s loan portfolio. Provide research support for team members and for presentations to senior management.
Keeping abreast of local real estate financing market information on an on-going basis. Regularly review newsletters and publications to remain current and update internal team.
Proactively reviewing existing portfolio loans and upcoming financing pipeline to generate attractive new opportunities.
Supporting team members during the loan origination process, including maintaining a pipeline of potential opportunities, underwriting/modeling, due diligence, in depth market research, lease analyses, sponsor diligence, and term sheet and loan document review.
Support asset management through review of borrower quarterly reporting and loan covenant compliance
Treasury
Assist in the monthly and quarterly treasury KPI reporting
Support the strategic pipeline discussion through the calculation and maintenance of cash flow forecast and monthly cash flow
Support analysis as required for treasury and financing activities
Monitor and enforce adherence to company spending controls and policies
What we’re looking for
Canadian Accounting designation (or in the process of obtaining)
Minimum 4years in a Finance/Accounting role or equivalent professional services experience in a similar industry
Experience with financial modelling
Advanced Excel skills with a demonstrated ability to work with large datasets
Experience using Yardi
Experience using Onestream
Willing to take on additional projects outside the scope of the role
