Job Description The primary role of the Maintenance Assistant is to support the Maintenance Foreman in day-to-day maintenance of the Eastern Vineyard equipment, site and infrastructure and buildings
Responsibilities
- General maintenance of vehicles and equipment, site and infrastructure and buildings
- General housekeeping in the maintenance shop and other work locations
- Receiving and stocking inventory of maintenance and safety supplies
- Keeping maintenance records and input of data
- Monthly inspections of offshore workers houses and other vineyard structures
- Effectively utilize PPE, company training and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
What you bring
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years prior experience in a similar role
- General housekeeping skills
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use heavy tools
- Class G driver’s license
- First aid certification and forklift training preferred, but will train if necessary
- Welding Certification preferred
- Basic computer skills, willingness to learn our online tools
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
Work locations and conditions
- Job will be based in Niagara-on-the-Lake
- Will require some travel to multiple work locations throughout the Niagara Region
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Physically demanding requiring bending, lifting, crouching
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, loud noises
