We are hiring at Aspire Software for a Senior Accounting Analyst!

The successful candidate will be based in Montreal, working in a hybrid setting.

What your day will look like:

• Financial Reporting: The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets for each division. They ensure that all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and relevant regulations. Additionally, they understand and continually work to improve and refine month-end reporting, accounting, and documentation processes
• Financial Analysis: The Senior Accounting Analyst conducts in-depth financial analysis, comparing actual performance against budgeted figures and providing variance analysis. They identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks, enabling management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance
• Monthly Close: The Senior Accounting Analyst performs tasks for the monthly, quarterly, and annual account closings. These tasks include GL reconciliations, analysis of the profit and loss statement, and review of bank reconciliations for each assigned division
• Financial Integrations: The Senior Accounting Analyst actively participates in financial and accounting integrations of newly acquired businesses

Audit Compliance: The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing documentation to auditors during year-end and interim audits. This documentation is provided by the deadline determined by the auditors and is accurate, thorough, and clear.

About You:

• Qualified accountant with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in Accounting and Audit
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, with CPA certification or CPA candidacy preferred
• Advanced Excel skills are necessary
• A genuinely curious mindset, capable of quickly learning new systems, and a desire to grow and develop over time are essential qualities
• Organized and detail-oriented individuals are preferred
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are required
• The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment is necessary
• Resourcefulness and initiative-taking are valued qualities
• A team player eager to tackle challenges and collaborate with team members and other finance teams is sought
• Detail-oriented self-starters who excel in process improvement and problem-solving are ideal candidates
