Aston Carter Looking for Operations Analyst at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

• The opening:* This analyst is going to be on the Loan Sales & Trading team and providing support in the settlement of loan trades. The team size: 6 analysts and a manager.
• Day day * – They will handle KYC work to ensure that the lenders are compliant and set up accordingly in the system and that their profiles & details are correct. They need to do this before they can proceed with trading documentation. They will also put trade settlement / transaction details into the Loan IQ system and deal with any ongoing inquiries coming in. There is also some reporting they have to do, and potentially some other transactions. (Loan renewal, interest payments, etc).

They will also be responsible for relevant general ledger updates, cash accounts. etc.

• Systems*: They will be working with LoanIQ and they will be using using the trading platform called Clear par (in syndication world this is common).
• Responsibilities: *

• Data entry responsibilities
• External communications (Mainly with lenders. Lenders they are trading with, so in that respect they are clients). Communication is mainly via email. There is some calls, mainly outbound. Phones calls are more adhoc.
• You will oversee such things as Loan transactions, documentation review, upkeep and maintenance of client profiles / records, daily transactional reconciliation, customer service and day-to-day account operations
• You establish relationships with partners and communicate complex issues to a wide array of businesses
• You effectively handle crucial and/or high-risk issues, resolving most appropriate and expeditious course for the successful resolution by exercising tact and subtlety and maintaining good customer relations
• You ensure the quality of own work and understand its end to end impact on the activities of others within and outside of own function / unit.
• Execute on routine and ad-hoc requests in addition to exception processing and management
• Adhere to strict deadlines, while handling high volumes of work in a demanding environment
• Administer a group of accounts for the Par Trading Book that are frequently traded
• Maintain the Loan System LoanIQ, including building of new primary and secondary deals, facilities, and loans.
• Assist Manager with workflow monitoring to ensure timely and accurate completion of asset transfer
• Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the performance and completion of assigned duties
• Focus on the customer experience and quality service
• MUST HAVES:* 1) 1+ year of exposure to syndicate lending (As a participant, lender, or even loan trading). Ideally they come from back office operations (but would consider middle office/front office). – 1+year.
• Excel skills (V look-up, Pivot tables, Macros, VBA) 3) Experience with a lending source system (With a strong preference to candidates with LOAN IQ)
• NICE TO HAVES:* 1) Loan IQ System Experience
• Alteryx / Python
