Where does the Project Engineer fit in?
As the Project Engineer, you would liaise with customers as required, support with the actual completion of tasks, support with coordinating internal teams, support with being on the floor coordinating trials and making sure required resources are in place, etc. You will provide support and assist a Program Manager on a program and also support other engineering departments for completion of some tasks like packaging studies and putting together ODSes.
What you can expect as our next Project Engineer:
Assist in developing and delivering project plans for new proposals and existing projects through liaison with cross-functional departments leaders
Support in Risk planning and management throughout project – plays a key role in anticipating, escalating and mitigating potential risk
Assist in managing project timing within overall program plan; track progress changes and develop recovery plans when necessary
Assist in Track and control project spend within allocated budget using forecasting tools
Assist in ensuring quality of deliverables, manage achievement of project deliverables at program milestones, and facilitate customer sign-off at gateway stages
Be involved in DFMEA, DVP&R, FEA, product drawings, identification of key characteristics, and design review processes including gates, milestones, etc.
Support in resolving quality issues as they arise
Interface/interact with internal stakeholders (testing, design, analysis, prototype, etc.) to ensure project deliverables are on track and progressing in a timely manner
Maintain open communication with various interacting departments including other divisions of Axiom, as necessary
Assist in Reporting on program status and identifying critical issues
Act as primary point of communication interface with the customer for the respective program
Assist Quality and Production departments in troubleshooting and problem analysis in conjunction with any issues of quality or production efficiency when requested
Are you our next Project Engineer?
Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in program/project management (automotive industry)
Experience in the Automotive and Plastic Injection industry is required
Proficient with MS Project
Impeccable oral and written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to interface with senior management
Strong relationship building skills
Able to effectively communicate client needs to the organization, simultaneously balancing organizational requirements
Proactive view to identifying & driving financial benefits for our clients
Ability to think & execute strategically and is results oriented
Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi task as required
Able to travel to customer/supplier destinations within North America with short notice
