JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
ready to expand their knowledge of BC Hydro and help shape capital project applications into
compelling business cases that will be filed with our Regulator, the BC Utilities Commission.
The Capital Projects Regulatory Team sits within BC Hydro’s Regulatory and Rates business
group and is made up of a team of senior professionals with education and experience in a
diverse range of disciplines including communications, finance, project management, engineering,
accounting, and environmental science. We partner with all areas of the organization to develop
regulatory applications that define the need and justification for our largest and most strategic
capital projects.
This role will suit a self-starter with a natural impulse for helping others and bringing people
together to find solutions. In this role, you will gain experience working with professionals from
across the company, the opportunity to collaborate with senior leadership, and the chance to lead
diverse project teams.

Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with the project team this role will devise the strategy, key arguments,
and application content. The goal is to receive a favorable decision from our Regulator so we may
proceed with the project as planned to grow and sustain our power system.
- Activities will include writing content, reviewing and shaping content written by project team
members, making presentations, and facilitating discussions.
- The role will engage leadership, request feedback on applications and collaborate with the
project team on how to incorporate feedback.
- Upon filing the Application, this role will lead the project team through the proceeding process
including written responses to questions, preparing final arguments and on occasion hosting
workshops with interested parties.
- This role requires excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate with clarity. Applications
include complex information that need to be conveyed in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
- This role may also support and contribute to other regulatory files such as the revenue
requirements application.
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, communications, business, public policy, or
equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills including writing and reading comprehension.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Strong project and / or process management skills.
- Some experience with and understanding of capital project planning and delivery processes.
- Experience working effectively as part of a cross functional team.
- Experience managing complex multi-year projects.

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.
IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
