The Workforce Development & Skills Training Division strives to enable all British Columbians to reach their full potential by advancing innovative workforce policies, programs and labour market information, including providing skills training opportunities across the province.
The Employment & Training Programs Branch is responsible for the design, development, implementation, delivery, performance management, and continuous improvement of a range of skills training programs and services under the Canada-BC Workforce Development Agreement. The Employment and Training Programs Branch is responsible for the design and delivery of skills training for employment programs delivered by third-party service providers, an application-based skills training Grant program, and supporting Branch communications and stakeholder engagement.
The Program Communications and Stakeholder Engagement unit is responsible for Branch communications including workforce development program promotion, engagement planning, developing executive communications materials, maintaining program webpages, and responding to a variety of information requests.
Reporting to the Executive Director and leading a team of communications professionals, the Manager Program and Stakeholder Engagement is responsible for leading external and internal communications on workforce development programs within AEST. The Manager develops and leads stakeholder and communications plans, represents the Branch on Inter and Intra-Ministry committees and working groups, develops strategic partnerships; represents the Province on Federal/Provincial/Territorial working groups and committees, supports GCPE as Branch point of contact for public announcements and events, and provides issues management advice and media relations expertise to Branch executive and staff.
