The Data Systems and Services branch within BCDS is a central service provider and systems manager for data discovery and sharing, data warehousing and publication, API discovery and management, data acquisition, analysis and visualization, digital map, and location services delivery. These systems support a wide range of internal and external clients with critical data replication and access, metadata and governance, data acquisition and analysis, physical address geocoding and routing, API mediation, official place name sharing, geographic bookmarking, and digital map and imagery services delivery.
To deliver these diverse services that support everything from public safety alerting to electronic prescribing, the branch integrates a combination of COTS (commercial off the shelf software), SAAS (software as a service), and FOSS (free and open-source software). To host software the branch employs a wide range of technical infrastructure ranging from physical Linux and Windows servers to Kubernetes clusters on private and public cloud.
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a fully automated DevOps development and production environment including automated code migration and testing processes and tools for effective iterative software development.
