The Inspection Associate, under the direction of the Quality Manager, will primarily be responsible to ensure compliance with quality standards and internal procedures to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, complete inspection reports and maintain inspection records
• Mark, record, and report non-conforming products
• Plan, conduct, and report findings of internal and supplier audits
• Ensure equipment calibration is conducted as per established schedules and records are maintained
• Conduct problem solving activities to determine root cause
• Assist with facilitation of identification, investigation, and documentation of corrective actions
• Gather specifications and/or standards from samples, customer documentation, and/or the engineering team to ensure compliance with requirements
• Prepare quality reports
• Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality tools into processes
• Assist in developing quality standards and facilitating the continual improvement of the Quality Management System
• Supporting process stakeholders in development of controlled documents
• Act as back-up to other positions within the Quality Process
• Collaborate with various departments and provide support as required
• General office administration duties – filing, using computer programs, etc.
• Adhere to all internal policies and procedures, applicable legislation and regulations 

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field preferred
• Eligibility for ASQ Certifications and Internal Auditor Certifications
• Developed understanding of industry regulations, ISO standards, and best practices preferred
• Meticulous records maintenance skills; Attention to detail in all areas of work
• Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
• Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with all levels of employees and customers
• Ability to read blueprints
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Computer literacy and familiarity with ERP systems
• Ability to operate miscellaneous small power tools (i.e. band saw, power nailer) that would commonly be found in a job shop
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
• Eligibility for security clearance including a clean criminal record check
