We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven Product Engineer -Prototype to join our Engineering team.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with Product Engineering, Prototypes, and Program Management to facilitate accurate and on-time prototype builds for the customer
Ensure that components for builds are accurately ordered, and on-time for all builds
Research the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems
Review production and prototype drawings and assess for changes, specifications, and standard formats
Coordinate customer requirements and liaise with various departments for the development of protypes of new projects/programs
Work to research and develop new prototyping manufacturing processes
Coordinate prototype development and provide technical support for tooling/gauge builds
Aid in Bill-of-Material (BOM) creation for new programs
Communicate with Manufacturing Engineer to transfer all knowledge gained when prototyping, to ensure seamless program launches.
Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning, Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement team meetings
Establish and maintain long term business relationships with customers
Provide engineering support and direction to the department and others as required
Interface with various manufacturing locations and current/prospective US automotive customers
Identify opportunities for growth and product development
Release and track tooling builds as required
Adheres to Environmental Management System and ISO14001:2015 throughout daily activities
Participate in Bend All’s health, safety, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and compliance obligations
Qualifications (education & Skills Required)
Post-Secondary education in mechanical engineering
1-3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably automotive
Ability to analyze blueprint specifications using GD&T
Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
Computer literate; capable of working with MS Office
Knowledge of ISO 14001/IATF16949 standards an asset
Occasional lifting and moving of material
