Big Brothers Big Sisters of North & West Niagara Looking for Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator at St. Catharines, ON Full Time

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for recruiting and maintaining a robust volunteer engagement program to ensure that there are adequate numbers of appropriate volunteers to support the mentoring programs serving St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln. This position reports directly to the Director of Services and the Executive Director.

This Position will have:

• Post-Secondary degree in Volunteer Management, Public Relations; Corporate Communications or Marketing Communications Management
• Minimum of three years of experience in Volunteer Management – recruiting, screening, training and evaluating.
• Experience in using business social media platforms
• Public Relations and Marketing skills is an asset but not a requirement
• Demonstrated experience in facilitation and developing training tools.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining community relationships and partnerships.
• Ability to communicate with, supervise, empower and motivate volunteers.
• Experience in working with adults, volunteer development, volunteer management, and working with diverse cultures
• Specific training in understanding human growth and development, appropriate interpersonal skills, interview/assessment techniques, child safety training and volunteer program management.
• Strong interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and creativity skills.
• Ability to accurately collect, manage and report data.
• Demonstrable computer skills including use of Microsoft Office – Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience in being able to directly supervise volunteers and staff
• Effective oral and written communication skill
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

The position also requires:

• A valid driver’s license and have their own vehicle
• A satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance of at least $1,000,000
• As a condition of employment, selected candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS),
• Availability on some evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $38,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
