Blue J Looking for Director, Marketing at Ontario, Canada Full Time

At Blue J, we’re on a mission to bring absolute clarity to Tax. We have recently built Ask Blue J, the leading Generative AI solution for Tax experts, and we are rapidly expanding across North America and the UK. To support this exciting expansion and significant growth, we are looking for a Director of Marketing. Working with our Digital Marketing Specialist, and our Revenue team more broadly, the Director of Marketing will lead the strategy and execution of all marketing programs. The highest priority will be owning demand generation, ABM, and content, as well as leading our marketing team as a player/coach.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working at early-stage B2B SaaS organizations, owning marketing for new product launches, and running programs and campaigns for expansion. You’ll have a track record of creating effective content/campaigns, and experience working with various market segments.

Reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer, you will lead our entire marketing efforts from creating B2B content, managing and coordinating outbound and inbound ABM communications programs, and honing our brand to drive a highly qualified sales pipeline.

You’ll be an inspiring coach to our (amazing!) Digital Marketing Specialist, and work collaboratively with our Revenue and Product teams. We’re looking for somebody who is enthusiastic, creative, and scrappy, and excited about making a big impact at the early stages of Ask Blue J’s growth.

A note on location: We are excited to meet candidates and are grateful for everyone’s interest. While this role is listed as hybrid, you’ll have the option to go into our downtown-Toronto office, work remotely, or choose a mix of both! Because of occasional in-person meetings, applicants must be based in the GTA/South-Western Ontario, and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

What You’ll be Doing

• Leading Blue J’s marketing efforts: Building, executing, and owning the marketing function with a core focus on demand generation
• Leading and collaborating with our Revenue and Product teams on strategic planning and implementation of marketing, sales, and account-based campaigns including messaging, content planning and creation, nurture programs, emails, landing pages, website, blogs, sales collateral and enablement, client case studies, and meetings and events
• Developing integrated organic and paid programs that increase the marketing database and overall pipeline, e.g. SEO, content marketing, webinars, events etc…
• Working collaboratively to write, review, publish, and promote marketing materials to drive awareness and interest
• Owning freelancer relationships and products when engaging with them. Owning marketing data. Analyzing campaign outcomes in detail, drawing insights and presenting results to facilitate decision making and determine next steps, optimizing based on analyses
• Working with the broader revenue team, optimizing data quality, reporting, and segmentation and proactively making recommendations on ICP (ideal customer profile)
• Collaboratively working to enhance brand and messaging strategy. Maintaining social media and website presence, ensuring postings are frequent, relevant, and consistent with Blue J’s brand and positioning.
• Owning operational processes relating to marketing initiatives to measure effectiveness, performance, and ROI. Ensuring processes are scalable, and proactively adapting to changes in the business with agility.
• Working resourcefully, both independently and with our team, to make strategic and creative recommendations to improve our overall marketing function
• Working as a dedicated coach to your team – their success is your success and priority

Our Marketing Tech Stack

• Experience with these platforms is great, but not required!: Webflow, HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Advertising.

• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in marketing
• You have a track record of success in marketing at a B2B SaaS organization, and have successfully owned the demand generation function at a point in your career growth
• You have experience working with various market segments, and are confident navigating MM, SMB, Enterprise, and SMB accounts
• You’re an expert in developing, executing, and measuring innovative and results-focused programs and campaigns
• You love content! You have experience owning the creation of marketing materials. You can identify what’s good and what works, and are excited to work with a team to build it.
• You know what good looks like when it comes to brand and messaging, and you can think long-term when it comes to positioning
• Scale-up experience is a strong asset. You thrive best in an environment where things move quickly (fewer processes means less red tape!), and you see the immediate impact of your work
• Influencing comes naturally to you; you’re a strong communicator and can clearly and easily articulate product offers to customers and prospects in writing, orally, and visually
• You have strong project management skills and attention to detail
