BorderPass is on a mission to create the world’s largest global mobility platform. Located in Toronto, we have built a visa management platform to assist users and their assets to cross borders seamlessly. Funded by top fintech investors, we are now looking to add to our developer team as we tackle this 100-billion dollar market and use our platform to drive efficiencies and a better user experience for the millions of people who are annually moving across borders.
Our software builds quality visa applications and manages and supports newcomers as they settle into their new destination. We not only ensure our customers get high-quality immigration services but also that they stay on track to meet their immigration goals. Since we create long-term and trusted relationships with customers who are at the beginning step of setting up a new life for themselves, there is a lot of opportunity to use software to make the experience better and to provide entirely new products to this often overlooked but important customer base. Our founding team has a combined 25+ years of startup experience and >$100M in funding in the tech space and a past IPO under our belt. This is an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level and make significant contributions to the company.
The Role
Full-Stack Developer; Senior Full-Stack Web Developer
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Software Engineer at BorderPass. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining back-end web applications, programming software solutions, and implementing object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts. The role is primarily located in Toronto, ON, with the flexibility for some remote work.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of a full-stack web application
- Learn and integrate new technologies into the platform
- Test your code and review the code of others
- Participate in standups, sprint plans, and other team meetings
- Be accessible during core business hours
- Report to the CTO
Qualifications
Although we understand developers come in all shapes and sizes, typically we look for the following:
- 3-5+ years of software development experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to be highly intuitive and thoughtful
- The ability to work with design and product team members
- Experience with development processes
- Experience working with tech startups
- People who are easy to work with
- Be aligned with BorderPass’ visions and company values
