About the Role:
In this newly created role and reporting into the SVP of Human Resources, the Senior Manager, Compensation will support our growing business by developing and implementing a strategic approach to total compensation. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Responsibilities include:
Developing, implementing and maintaining compensation programs (including merit process, promotions and market adjustments, executive bonus plan, etc.), policies, processes, and systems support to ensure that we are attracting, retaining and rewarding high performing and high potential employees;
Research best practices and trends and perform a deep analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation structures;
Monitoring the effectiveness of compensation programs in achieving their stated objective and making recommendations/changes to further align objectives with outcomes;
Collecting and analyzing market data and maintaining salary survey data including managing all benchmarking activities;
Providing subject matter expertise to annual market adjustments to salary ranges (where applicable) and merit increase guidelines;
Evaluating new positions and determining appropriate salary ranges to foster equitable and competitive pay practices;
Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends cost-effective changes consistent with compensation trends and the organization’s objectives;
Acting as an internal consultant on compensation matters for management staff, talent acquisition, and business line management.
What you Bring:
The ideal Senior Manager, Compensation is an experienced compensation professional that has demonstrated capability designing, implementing and maintaining compensation structures with a people centred approach. You have a deep understanding of job evaluation methods and bring forth best practices to ensure alignment to corporate objectives. You possess a strong work ethic, are a results oriented and process driven individual with a proactive approach to understand the business.
Our Must Haves
Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in compensation;
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field;
CPHR designation will be considered an asset, but not required;
Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs;
Strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of a team driven to make a real contribution to the organization; willing to roll up your sleeves to do what needs to be done;
Ability to provide advice and guidance on compensation programs to leaders across the organization;
Ability to exercise discretion, tact, diplomacy and good judgement.
