Boston Consulting Group Looking for Staff Accountant/Analyst at Toronto, ON Full Time

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Staff Accountant/Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial operations including: Employee taxable benefit tracking; cost budget planning and system input; supporting our centralized in-house employee expense claim process and policy; internal charge code reporting and maintenance; supporting a centralized in-house accounts payable process and supporting our employee expense claim platform and process. This position will be an integral member of the BCG Canada Finance Team.

The Canadian offices are comprised of 3 locations with approximately 500 employees.

Statutory Accounting

Employee Taxable Benefits (TBs)

• Monitor employee expenses weekly to identify known as well as possible TB transactions

• Calculating and preparing monthly TB details report by employee for payroll

• Processing required tax equalization cost allocations

Budgeting, Planning and Reporting

• Monthly preparation and distribution of expenditures by function

• Keying of detailed functional budgets into FIM planning tool

• Reviewing local management report for variances and trends

Internal Charge Code Maintenance

• Monitor and report activities weekly and monthly

• Open and close internal charge codes as required

• Maintain our charge code approval matrix

Accounts Payable

• Fielding employee and vendor queries on invoice payments and following up with central AP service

• Vendor maintenance – new and existing

• Ownership of the local components of our AP process

Employee Expense Policy and Claim Process

• Responsible for new hire orientation for travel and expense policies

• Assist staff with expense policy and expense system related questions

• Process required adjustments and corrections

Other Items

• Other ad hoc requests from Finance Team such as reporting activity on specific charge codes

YOU’RE GOOD AT

• Intermediate to expert level in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Oracle including FIM and Business Objects
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
• Proven analytical capabilities; a quick learner; a bright professional with a can-do attitude
• Great attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong knowledge of principles, procedures, and practices of general accounting
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High degree of integrity, a positive attitude, and an ability to maintain absolute confidentiality

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting
• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience
• Experience in a professional services firm preferred
