The Brampton Venture Zone team is looking to hire a Marketing and Events Coordinator who is passionate about the tech startup space and interested in getting involved with this program. This role will manage our social media accounts, assist in implementing marketing campaigns and events, and community engagement activities. This role will be working closely with our Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator.

About Brampton Venture Zone by TMU:
A joint partnership between the City of Brampton and Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson University, Brampton Venture Zone is a purpose-driven, non-equity incubator that is dedicated to building and growing early stage technology startups in Brampton. We enable connections between aspiring entrepreneurs, current founders, industry experts, funders, and customers to build solutions that address hyperlocal issues in the community.
Job Responsibilities
• Content creation including day-to-day stories, posts, reels and videos
• Community engagement across our social media channels: reposting, following,
liking and sharing from community organizations, current members, prospective
startups, industry partners, and publications
• Assisting with the marketing campaign rollout and event operations for BVZ events,
including event set up, speaker gifts, and promotion
• Create monthly analytics reports to track success of social media strategy and
campaigns, and brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
• Developing bi-weekly email campaigns to send out to BVZ’s founders and
community
• Gathering content from founders for BVZ’s blog and Instagram Reels
• Assisting the Marketing Coordinator with creating content for BVZ’s podcast
• Updating presentations decks needed to convey information about the program
• Assisting with planning and updating landing pages and website content
• Organizing marketing finances and receipts
Key Skills and Qualifications
• Progression of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or relevant program
• Preference for previous experience in social media marketing, predominantly
Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Youtube, including content creation of Instagram reels, stories, etc.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills and ability to write copy/blogs for certain audiences
• Outgoing and personable and comfortable occasionally being on camera for social media content creation
• Strong flexibility and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced team environment
• Detail oriented with the ability to perform quality work with accuracy, meeting all requirements and deadlines
• Some experience or interest in startups and community engagement
• Ability to think both creatively and analytically, work independently and deliver high quality results
• Graphic design and editing skills with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro would be a strong asset
• Photography skills are an asset
