As a member of our HR team you will have the opportunity to:
- Working hands on with operations leaders you are a partner that fosters our culture and drives change management and efficiencies
- First point of contact for Employee Relations issues – partners with Operations to ensure resolution is respectful, positive and professional fostering environment.
- Coach and advise management on interpretation of company policy and applicable legislation related to employment.
- Actively engage in management of all employee relations investigations to promote a positive workplace environment while ensuring limitation of any potential legal risks – including harassment complaints, ethics hotline cases
- First point of contact for all grievance intake – ensuring appropriate tracking is taking place in order to identify trends and implement changes as appropriate
- Coach management and provide input on interpretation of collective agreement within assigned region
- Provide support in identifying opportunity for accommodated duties in the event of employee requirements; engage in creative problem solving to identify opportunities for early and safe return to work where lost time can be avoided. Member of the Health & Safety Committee
- Work with regional leadership to develop talent requirements for each branch location; design and implement a TA calendar to support needs
- Design and execute TA plans that ensure an active candidate pipeline
- Support the development of leadership capacity by partnering with cross functional HR peers, to identify opportunities for coaching and development (including Performance Improvement Plans)
- Leverage metrics to evaluate for root cause and implement plans for resolution
- Lead execution of national initiatives for your region. Support adoption of new programs and tools.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years experience in an HR Generalist/HRBP Capacity, preferably within unionized environments
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP/CHRL preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources best practices and processes
- Previous experience with Workday, Strong MS Office skills
- Collaborative – ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, participate in cross-functional projects
- Driven –sense of accountability, ability to manage large and small scale projects and balance simultaneous demands; ability to convert strategy into action
- Clear and concise communicator – strong oral and written skills to deliver compelling messages
- Service orientation – demonstrated drive for working proactively with leadership to develop and implement plans that support a positive work environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, credibility and confidentiality
- Regional travel will be required (up to 10% of time on average)
