Who You Are:

The Director of Canada Operations will be responsible for managing and supporting all Canadian business operations for Brunello Cucinelli Canada. This role will strategize and oversee execution of all the business operational standards and be the liaison between internal teams and external partners. Reporting directly into the President and CEO of Brunello Cucinelli North America, the Director of Canada Operations will oversee and partner with operational functions including Retail, Buying, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Store Planning, HR, IT, Finance, and more.

What You’ll Do:

• Understand the CEO’s high-level vision and translate it into executable operational company standards.
• Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
• Prepare for and lead openings, drive sales in stores and manage operational excellence, fostering a unified, collaborative, and innovative culture.
• Play a role in the assortment process, contributing insights for a competitive retail offering.
• Stay attuned to market trends, sharing strategic insights with store teams, and leadership.
• Conduct sales analysis to understand opportunities to grow businesses commercially.
• Understand and analyze the competitors, local economies, market trends and general conditions that will affect the business over the short and long term.
• Demonstrate effective managerial competencies: team building, collaboration, lead change initiatives.
• Promote brand awareness throughout Canadian market, establish market/store presence, and capture competitive market share; establish a baseline and benchmarks for optimal growth.
• Conduct store visits on a consistent basis and evaluate stores in the following key areas – management of team, motivation of team, merchandise, brand knowledge, product knowledge, storytelling, client journeys, competitive knowledge, KPIs, FOH/BOH standards, operational processes, store and staff productivity, business strategy and business tools. Develop store and process enhancements as needed.
• Perform and prepare for all inventories and cycle counts, including reconciliations of stock discrepancies. Performs stock adjustments.
• Liaison with corporate construction and maintenance department and outside vendors with regards to any maintenance needs. Ensure the building and stores are maintained to company standard and all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Work closely with CRM Director and wider retail teams on initiatives ensuring that guidelines are followed, and KPI metrics are achieved.
• Guarantee continuous engagement and high motivation of all store teams through an active presence in stores. Drive store performance and ensure commitment to brand excellence.
• Ensure the workflow of all after-sales services and tailors if applicable.
• Partner with Human Resource team on employee relations issues and escalate, as needed.
• Drive the implementation of company strategies by coaching and motivating the cross functional teams based in the Toronto showroom and ensure a strong adoption and understanding of company goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 8-10+ years of experience in Retail, previous multi-unit and leadership experience required
• Proven track record in driving a large volume retail portfolio.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of building, and leading teams to achieve sales and customer service goals.
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of the Canada luxury market and clients.
• Knowledge and understanding of retail store operations, product selection and allocations, stock management and loss prevention, sales, assortment planning, and expense control.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively to deliver timely and impactful results.
