Job Description
As a member of the Québec Private Equity and Relationship Investing team, you will contribute to the team’s portfolio performance by monitoring existing files in a rigorous and proactive manner and by supporting the completion of sound new investments in private and public companies. You will also help with investment valuation initiatives and may be required to participate in business development activities in the sector.
Main responsibilities
Planning and carrying out, with the support of the team managers, the quarterly financial, operational and competitive review of the portfolio investments under your responsibility.
Supporting the team in completing investment transactions through the implementation of rigorous financial models, the performance of incisive financial and business analysis, the effective coordination of due diligence work and the drafting of high quality recommendations.
Assisting managers in preparing presentations and organizing various business development meetings.
Helping with the continuous improvement of work processes and the refinement of your colleagues’ expertise.
Producing targeted sectoral studies.
Developing effective research and monitoring tools.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
Graduate degree, a major asset
CFA, CPA and/or CBV designation obtained or in process, a major asset
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in financial analysis/modelling, as well as proficiency in the use of spreadsheets
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration
Knowledge of private equity and/or corporate finance, a major asset
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
