Purpose and Accountability
This is a call for external existing Assistant Principals who are interested in School Leadership opportunities with the Calgary Board of Education.
Particular attention will be given to individuals with experience in the following areas:
Reporting to the Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for cooperating with the Principal in all matters concerning the organization and operation of the school. This position is accountable to the Chief Superintendent through the Area Education Director. The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in their legislated responsibility and accountability for optimizing student learning while meeting the obligations and responsibilities of the Education Act and all other appropriate statutes, in addition to policies, regulations, and procedures of the Board.

Eligibility
a valid Alberta Professional Teaching Certificate (or eligible for certification)
the completion of a Masters Degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution
the completion or eligible to complete the Leadership Quality Standard Certification
minimum requirements of five years teaching experience and a minimum of 2 years of administration experiences as an Assistant Principal
the Board reserves the right to appoint individuals with equivalent credentials to those stated
