Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Public Safety & Environment, the Manager, Park Access provides leadership and operational guidance to the parking and arrivals teams. This role provides leadership to a large employee base and is responsible for the successful planning and execution of daily operations, as well as the customer experience and financial impact of these services.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

• Leading and supporting the Parking and Park Admissions teams by providing clear, consistent communication and encouragement. Fostering a collaborative working environment, ensuring that the team is focused on achieving both long and short-term operational goals.
• Operating at both a strategic and operational level, responding to departmental challenges and opportunities for growth and development of both the business and the team.
• Hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management and providing day to day leadership to the team.
• Leading by example while contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the organization and delivering on the expectations of our customers.
• Implementing strategies determined by the leadership team.
• Ensuring financial and operational accountability for department budgets and forecasts.
• Solution oriented during fast paced and stressful situations.
• Providing oversight and managing the day-to-day operations of the parking and arrivals teams.

Guest Experience

• Creating and developing innovative processes that are relevant to evolving customer expectations while maintaining the Stampede brand and experience.
• Providing clear communication and training methods to maximize employee potential, while creating exceptional customer experience.
• Developing relationships with key stakeholders and partners to ensure seamless event operations minimizing impact to the community.
• Taking initiative to find and implement effective solutions to address guest experience opportunities.
• Facilitating problem solving & conflict resolution to achieve successful event execution and guest experience.

Daily Operations

• Engage in forward-thinking Park access and egress design in consideration of event and construction schedules.
• Designing and leading traffic, crowd, and line management solutions.
• Enforcing policies, standards, and regulations as a member of the management team.
• Developing standardized processes and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of services.
• Ensuring safety regulations are adhered to.
• Providing planning and event execution support for live events.

Administration

• Utilizing accounting, event and parking software systems to review and analyze information in reports.
• Producing reports for leadership as required.
• Regular review and analysis of events and guest feedback.
• Cascading all relevant information to the team to ensure seamless operations.
• Performing regular audits of quality assurance checks on daily operations and documentation.
• Participating in department and division planning meetings as required.
• Managing assigned projects from start to finish.

Education

• Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited university in business or hospitality preferred.

Previous Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ related management experience.
• Experience in the events industry with large-scale operations, including in some or all of the following: guest experience, event/venue logistics, crowd/traffic management.

Practical and Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of public safety, health and safety, event and venue logistics.
• Budgeting skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining financial controls as it relates to annual operating budgets.
• Ability to analyze the existing work force against current and future business needs to provide solutions to ensure labor optimization while meeting set service standards.
• Experience with MS Office, radios and tablets.

Planning, Organizational and Integrating Knowledge

• Perform effectively under significant pressure associated with the demands and timelines of the event industry and a complex workforce.
• Ability to apply analytical techniques to identify the root cause of a problem and find the best solution.
• Anticipates the risk or implications inherent in a suggested solution and develops contingency plans to mitigate their impacts.

• People leadership skills to include motivating a diverse full and part-time work force, volunteers, and partners.
• Relationship management with the ability to balance the needs of varied groups, while influencing a variety of stakeholders, e.g., employees, volunteers, suppliers, external partners, clients and guests.
