Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant provides support to the Controller and the finance team, and is integral to the day-to-day full cycle accounting activities of the Underhill Group of Companies. The Intermediate accountant will contribute to accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, and general ledger management leading towards the completion of monthly financial statements including working papers and month end adjusting entries.
Responsibilities
- AP/AR activities
- Costing and analysis
- Bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
- Support the month-end close process including adjusting entries, leadsheets, and variance analysis
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, provide day to day financial system support
- Undertake additional projects/tasks as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed post-secondary education or equivalent in accounting/finance
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in Windows applications, with proven experience in Sage, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and take initiative
- Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
