Canada Building Materials Looking for Technical Services Student at Toronto, ON Full Time

Established principally in Southern Ontario, Canada, St. Marys CBM is the building materials division of St. Marys Cement. We have more than 450 Ready-Mix trucks operating out of 40 plants; located in areas from Hull, Quebec (serving the National Capital Region) in the east, and spread 700 kilometres to Windsor, Ontario in the west, with an emphasis on the most heavily populated areas of the province.

CBM is looking to fill an 8 month contract – April/May – December 2022.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Visits job sites, Performs ongoing CSA & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

Promotes value-added products, collects market and job information.

Supervises and plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and employees.

Recommends modifications of existing quality or productions standards or procedures.

Reviews and supervises the work of 3rd party Concrete Testing Services.

Follow all health & safety and COVID-19 protocols.

Education and/or Experience:
Currently enrolled in a three-year college or technical school program in a related field, such as Civil Engineering Technology (CET) or similar.

People skills, problem solving and decision making skills.

Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel).

Construction field experience would be an asset.

Valid Ontario G or G2 class Driver’s License is a requirement.
